What students say:

“My friend and I decided to bite the bullet and book a learn to crochet session with Becky. She was a fantastic teacher – so patient and encouraging. We are looking forward to our next session.” Nikki Pow

“I had a 1:1 Skype session with Becky to resolve some issues I was having crocheting a blanket. Becky is a fantastic, clear, patient teacher, who demonstrated how to resolve my issues easily whilst I followed along. She then showed me a brilliantly easy way to start a new blanket. Thanks so much Becky – I’m looking forward to getting on with my blanket now!” Louise Webb

“Becky is an excellent, extremely patient teacher! Becky taught me to crochet from scratch with a very kind and caring approach. It has been really fun learning with Becky and she has been willing to help support all the projects I’ve wanted to tackle with excellent advice and support. I would highly recommend Becky!” Verity Budd

“Becky is the most cheerful and patient person that you will ever meet. She helped me to make 2 fabric advent calendars that I had the idea for but no clue as to how I was going to carry it out. Becky’s methodical and calm approach enabled me to make something much better than I’d imagined and they have become much loved items. I have also attended workshops where we made pom poms and felt Christmas trees which was great fun. Thank you Becky for your creativity and support.” Steph Sydney

I’ve been helping crafters to make their creative dreams come true for years, with easy-to-understand tutorials and colourful projects that are both practical and pretty. I’ve worked for many craft magazines, including Simply Crochet, Mollie Makes, Simply Sewing, Love Patchwork & Quilting, and Simply Knitting.

So whether you want to learn how to crochet, get help with a sewing pattern, or discover a new creative passion, I’m here to support you on your creative journey. I’m available for bookings in the daytime, evenings or weekends.

Where are you?
I’m based between Bristol and Bath, in Longwell Green, BS30 9AL – full address will be provided when you book. My craft studio is in East Bristol and within easy travelling distance from Bath, Keynsham, Kingswood, and more.
I can travel to you for an extra fee – please get in touch for more information.

How much do you charge?
I charge £20 per person per hour – you can book up to three hours in a block.
You can book one session at a time or a series of sessions, as you wish. There’s no obligation to have a specific number of sessions.
Payment must be made in advance to secure your session booking – I’ll send you all the details you need when you book a time with me so that payment is easy for you. I accept payments by BACS or Paypal. At the end of a session, I can accept cash payments in advance for your next session.

What are the dates and times for classes?
It’s totally up to you when you want to have a class! I hate it when I find a great craft class… but it’s run on a day or time that I can’t make!! Everything I do is about giving you the best crafty experience possible, so I don’t have set times for classes – you can choose exactly what day and time suits you.
If you’re keen on attending a group class, just let me know and I’ll add you to a waiting list – as soon as there are enough people to run the group class I’ll be in touch. My prices are the same if it’s a group or a one-to-one session.

Which class should I choose?
You’re welcome to email or phone me for a free consultation on which class might be best for you. My email is beckyskuse@gmail.com or call 07811121381. Classes are run as one-to-ones or in groups of up to three. I recommend a one-to-one tutorial if you’re a beginner, need a technique refresher or you’re left-handed.
In classes for beginners, we always start with the basics and gradually learn new skills. However, everyone learns at a different pace and you might need more support or more sessions than another beginner. This is totally normal and the main aim is to have fun! I recommend that total beginners start with one-to-one tutorials for maximum support, rather than a group session, but it’s totally your choice. I’m happy to talk it over with you and guide you on that.

What can I expect from a class with you?
I believe that making and learning should be a joyful experience, so I aim for every class to have a balance between learning, creating and having fun.
We all create at our own speed so there’s no pressure to finish in a certain time – this isn’t the Sewing Bee! In many classes, I’ll get you started on making a pattern and then you can finish it at home or book another session with me to finish it, as you wish.
I stock a vast library of patterns that you’re welcome to use. Many patterns are my own!

What materials do I need?
This all depends on the class you’ve booked and where you are in your craft journey. For most classes, you will need to bring some materials – I’ll let you know what you need to bring when you book. Depending on the session you’ve booked, I’ll provide some materials for you to use during the class and for you to take home. I’ll also give you a list of suggested buys if you want to continue. I also sell a beginners pack for crochet and knitting, which includes a ball of DK yarn, 4mm hook or needles, a couple of stitch markers and a pretty organza bag to keep it all safe!

What’s your cancellation policy?
Sometimes life happens and I try to be as flexible and easy-going as possible about cancellations. If I need to cancel a session, I will let you know as soon as possible via the contact details you’ve given me – you can choose to get a full refund or reschedule the session, as you wish.
If you need to cancel a session for any reason, please let me know as soon as you can. If you cancel up to 48 hours before a session, you can choose to get a full refund or reschedule the session, as you wish. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the session, you can only reschedule the session – if you cancel that session again, you are not entitled to a refund or to reschedule.
